Job Description:
As a Kubernetes Security Specialist at Excent, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining security measures for Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications. You will work closely with our DevOps and development teams to identify and mitigate security risks and ensure compliance with best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Kubernetes Security: Implement security best practices and policies for Kubernetes clusters, including RBAC, network policies and admission controllers.
- Container Security: Secure container images, registries, and runtime environments using tools like Docker, Podman and container scanning solutions.
- Security Auditing: Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments of Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
- Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures for Kubernetes security incidents.
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): Manage Kubernetes authentication and authorization mechanisms, including integration with identity providers.
- Compliance: Ensure Kubernetes clusters and workloads comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Security Monitoring: Set up and configure security monitoring and logging solutions to detect and respond to security threats.
- Security Automation: Implement security automation and scripting to streamline security tasks and processes.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for Kubernetes security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs for team members to promote Kubernetes security best practices.
Qualifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) certification is required.
- Proven experience as a Kubernetes Security Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes security concepts, including network policies, RBAC and admission controllers.
- Experience with container security best practices, image scanning and runtime security.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native security and cloud provider security services (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI).
- Proficiency in security tools and solutions such as Falco, Aqua Security, Kyverno, Snyk and Sysdig.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a DevOps and security-focused environment
