New Zealand at a glance

New Zealand is a beautiful and diverse country located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It comprises two main islands, the North Island and the South Island and several smaller islands. The country is divided into 16 regions and 53 districts. Some of the largest cities are Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. It has a population of approximately 5.1 million people. Wellington is the capital city.

Banking

New Zealand has a well-developed financial sector. There are approximately 27 financial institutions operating in the country, with some of the largest being ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited, Westpac New Zealand Limited and BNZ (Bank of New Zealand). The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) is the Central bank of New Zealand.

Small Claims Procedure

Small claims can be filed in the Disputes Tribunal, which is part of the Ministry of Justice. The maximum amount that can be claimed is NZD $30,000.
